Nos Estados Unidos acontecem ao mesmo tempo os dois \u00faltimos Grand Prix da temporada 2015\/16, em Santa Clara e Indian\u00e1polis. Na Europa tem in\u00edcio o tradicional Circuito Mare Nostrum com a etapa de Monte Carlo, em M\u00f4naco. Na piscina grandes nomes internacionais como Nathan Adrian, Mitch Larkin, Emily Seebohm, Dana Vollmer, Sun Yang e Chad Le Clos, al\u00e9m de brasileiros candidatos ao p\u00f3dio ol\u00edmpico como Thiago Pereira e Bruno Fratus. Por\u00e9m, essas tr\u00eas grandes competi\u00e7\u00f5es dividir\u00e3o os holofotes com outro evento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Trata-se do Longhorn Elite Invite, uma competi\u00e7\u00e3o de menor porte que come\u00e7a nessa sexta-feira e termina no domingo na piscina da Universidade do Texas. As aten\u00e7\u00f5es tamb\u00e9m se voltam ao campeonato no Texas por causa de uma pessoa em especial: Michael Phelps. Essa ser\u00e1 a \u00faltima competi\u00e7\u00e3o do nadador antes da seletiva ol\u00edmpica americana e ele esta inscrito para nadar quatro provas: 50m e 100m livre, 100m borboleta e 200m medley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">N\u00e3o \u00e9 surpresa nenhuma que Phelps disputar\u00e1 os 200m medley e os 100m borboleta na seletiva americana buscando uma vaga no Team USA. Nestas duas provas ele tem o objetivo de tornar-se o primeiro atleta da nata\u00e7\u00e3o a vencer quatro vezes a mesma prova em Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos. Al\u00e9m delas, o americano dever\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m nadar os 200m borboleta no Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ao se inscrever para nadar os 50m e 100m livre, Phelps confirma o que muitos j\u00e1 suspeitavam: que ele precisa treinar e adquirir mais velocidade para conseguir uma vaga no competitivo revezamento 4x100m livre. Mesmo tendo \u00f3timos tempos nos 100n livre, Phelps ter\u00e1 uma concorr\u00eancia muito forte por um lugar no revezamento e sabe que ter\u00e1 que fazer um \u00faltimo teste antes do USA Olympic Trials. Ser\u00e1 interessante tamb\u00e9m ver qual ser\u00e1 seu tempo nos 50m livre.
