Chegando a sua primeira sele\u00e7\u00e3o absoluta neste ano, ele conquistou vaga para o Campeonato Mundial em piscina curta (25m) de Hangzhou, na China, em dezembro, mas teve que abrir m\u00e3o de sua vaga visando a temporada americana e o ano 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConversei com os meus t\u00e9cnicos para compreender melhor a situa\u00e7\u00e3o. N\u00e3o queria abrir m\u00e3o daquilo que eu tanto busquei, mas n\u00e3o teve jeito. Viagem longa, em data cheia de provas, em um momento crucial do treinamento aqui na temporada americana. Estou fora do Mundial, de novo\u201d, comenta o nadador.<\/p>\n<p>O mineiro estuda Animal Behavior (esp\u00e9cie de Zoologia) e treina desde 2016 na Universidade de Indiana, nos Estados Unidos. Ele ficou de fora da Olimp\u00edada do Rio-2016, por cinco cent\u00e9simos. No ano seguinte, mudan\u00e7a no crit\u00e9rio de classifica\u00e7\u00e3o para o Mundial de Budapeste e ficou de fora mais uma vez.<\/p>\n<p>Ano passado ele teve uma de suas melhores temporadas. Em fevereiro na confer\u00eancia B1G Ten conquistou sete medalhas de ouro. Mar\u00e7o foi vez da NCAA. Medalha individual, ouro no revezamento, seus melhores tempos. Em 2018 obteve seu primeiro grande resultado a n\u00edvel internacional. Eu queria isso demais. E, de novo, eu tive que escolher. Abri m\u00e3o dos 200m medley pra focar no 100m borbo, j\u00e1 que eram provas seguidas. Perto de repetir o meu melhor tempo, fui bronze vestindo a camisa do meu pa\u00eds. Que experi\u00eancia!&#8221;, conta Lanza.<\/p>\n<p>No Finkel ele alcan\u00e7ou tr\u00eas \u00edndices para a competi\u00e7\u00e3o o que lhe garantiu a presen\u00e7a na China, campeonato que abriu m\u00e3o.\u00a0\u201cDessa vez foi por escolha. Entendo isso como um privil\u00e9gio, sabe? Treinei tanto para poder chegar no lugar que estou e para que este lugar possa me permitir fazer escolhas. Escolhas que eu fiz a vida inteira, com foco em um objetivo final que sempre foi o mesmo: os Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos. A jornada at\u00e9 T\u00f3quio vai ser gigante\u201d, comenta o nadador.<\/p>\n<p>Lanza se concentra agora em 2019,\u00a0 ano de Campeonato Mundial em piscina longa (50m) de Gwangju na Coreia do Sul e os Jogos Pan-Americanos de Lima no Peru. \u201cTamb\u00e9m ser\u00e1 o meu \u00faltimo ano de NCAA. O foco \u00e9 esse: treinar bastante para que as minhas escolhas possam ir abrindo meu caminho at\u00e9 o meu sonho.
