\n

No pr\u00f3ximo s\u00e1bado o experiente nadador de \u00e1guas abertas Marcos Campos tentar\u00e1 colocar em seu curr\u00edculo mais uma conquista expressiva: contornar a nado a Ilha de Key West, no estado americano da Fl\u00f3rida. O local, regi\u00e3o dos Estados Unidos mais pr\u00f3xima a Cuba, tamb\u00e9m foi palco da \u00e9pica travessia de Diana Nyad em 2013 que nadou da ilha cubana at\u00e9 a costa americana. Anualmente \u00e9 realizado no local a famosa a Volta \u00e0 Ilha de Key West, que ter\u00e1 percurso de aproximadamente 20 km.<\/p>\n

O evento \u00e9 organizado pela Florida Keys Community College desde 2007 e reconhecida pela World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA). Majoritariamente disputada por atletas locais, foram poucos os estrangeiros que nadaram em suas \u00e1guas, por\u00e9m, dois deles se destacam: o venezuelano Juan Luis Martinez, que det\u00e9m o recorde da prova com 3h51min00s e o brasileiro Samir Barel que foi vice-campe\u00e3o em 2013.<\/p>\n

As \u00e1guas de Key West s\u00e3o famosas por sua alta temperatura. Nesta \u00e9poca do ano, ver\u00e3o no hemisf\u00e9rio norte, elas ficam em torno de 28\u00b0C. Com o calor do ambiente a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9rmica chega at\u00e9 36\u00b0C. Um clima quente e que se torna um desafio a mais para os nadadores que passar\u00e3o horas dentro d\u2019\u00e1gua. Para deixar a miss\u00e3o ainda mais dif\u00edcil h\u00e1 fortes ventos que sopram na regi\u00e3o, deixando o mar agitado e trazendo possibilidades de chuva.<\/p>\n

\u00c9 justamente este desafio que Marcos Campos vai tentar concluir neste fim de semana. O nadador paulista se preparou nos \u00faltimos meses para esta prova e j\u00e1 tem em mente os percal\u00e7os que encontrar\u00e1 pelo caminho. \u201cFaz parte da modalidade entender os aspectos naturais e imprevis\u00edveis de cada travessia, mas algumas caracter\u00edsticas da prova que para muitos podem parecer ruins, como o calor, para mim s\u00e3o um ponto forte. Eu sempre me senti bem nadando em \u00e1guas quentes, com o clima mais quente. Al\u00e9m disso tem uma corrente favor\u00e1vel em uma parte da ilha e vou procurar aproveit\u00e1-la o m\u00e1ximo poss\u00edvel para fazer um tempo bacana\u201d, contou.<\/p>\n

Tricampe\u00e3o da Travessia 14 Bis, top 10 na Travessia Hernand\u00e1rias-Paran\u00e1 de 88 km e com participa\u00e7\u00e3o em etapas do Grand Prix da Fina, a Volta \u00e0 Ilha de Key West era um objetivo antigo do nadador que pretende superar o recorde nacional de seu grande amigo Samir Barel. \u201cA expectativa \u00e9 grande, a prepara\u00e7\u00e3o foi dura, s\u00e9ries longas de 5 at\u00e9 9 km constantes para dar seguran\u00e7a e paci\u00eancia para segurar firme v\u00e1rias horas nadando direto.
