A etapa, que foi a terceira da temporada 2016, aconteceu na Praia de S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 de Paripe, famosa por suas \u00e1guas calmas e belezas naturais. E al\u00e9m contar com a presen\u00e7a de mais de 2500 atletas de todo o Brasil a etapa teve a participa\u00e7\u00e3o de atletas de elite, como medalhistas em Jogos Pan-Americanos e Campeonatos Mundiais da Fina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Foram realizadas tr\u00eas provas de \u00e1guas abertas, o stand-up paddle, o beach run e o beach biathlon, esta \u00faltima que contou com a presen\u00e7a de v\u00e1rios nadadores de elite que al\u00e9m de darem suas bra\u00e7adas, correram pelas areias de S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 de Paripe. Melhor para o nadador do Gr\u00eamio N\u00e1utico Uni\u00e3o Fernando Ponte que superou por alguns cent\u00e9simos o argentino Guilermo Bertolla, medalhista de bronze no Pan de 2011 e o baiano Victor Colonese da Unisanta que tamb\u00e9m foram ao p\u00f3dio. Destaque para o atleta da casa Luis Rog\u00e9rio Arapiraca e para o carioca Arthur Pedroza que tamb\u00e9m chegaram pr\u00f3ximos de disputar a vit\u00f3ria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na prova feminina a italiana Alice Franco venceu sem muitas dificuldades. Ela que foi medalhista de bronze nos 25 km no Campeonato Mundial de Xangai-2011 chegou meio minuto a frente da peruana Maria Alejandra Garcia, vice-campe\u00e3. Gabriela Ferreira foi a melhor brasileira ao chegar na terceira coloca\u00e7\u00e3o poucos segundos atr\u00e1s de Maria. O atleta venceu no Sprint, que teve 1 km de percurso, e no Classic, com dist\u00e2ncia de 2 km. No feminino Gabriela Ferreira foi a campe\u00e3 no Sprint e Betina Lorscheitter levou o t\u00edtulo no Classic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A primeira edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Desafio Rei e Rainha do Mar nas \u00e1guas da Bahia ser\u00e1 lembrada pelo equil\u00edbrio e chegadas emocionantes.
