Hoje \u00e9 dia 1\u00ba de maio, dia do trabalho. E por falar em trabalho, Caeleb Dressel<\/a> pretende ter muito trabalho durante o Campeonato Mundial de Esportes Aqu\u00e1ticos de Gwangju. Em entrevista ao programa Gold Medal Minute do site americano Swim Swam<\/a>, o velocista afirmou que pretende cavar uma vaga no revezamento 4x200m livre e disputar nove provas na principal competi\u00e7\u00e3o da temporada.<\/p>\n

Dressel j\u00e1 tem programadas oito participa\u00e7\u00f5es em Gwangju. S\u00e3o quatro provas individuais: 50m e 100m livre e 50m e 100m borboleta, al\u00e9m de mais quatro revezamentos: 4x100m livre masculino e misto e 4x100m medley masculino e misto. O 4x200m livre seria a nona prova e a possibilidade de superar sua performance no \u00faltimo Mundial em Budapeste, quando conquistou sete medalhas de ouro em oito provas.<\/p>\n

O interesse em nadar o revezamento se deve ao seu resultado na prova durante a disputa do TYR Pro Swim Series de Richmond disputado no come\u00e7o de abril. Na ocasi\u00e3o ele fez 1min47s31 nos 200m livre, sua melhor marca pessoal. Para o Mundial a USA Swimming convocou Townley Haas e Andrew Seliskar para nadar a prova individual, al\u00e9m do 4x200m livre. Para completar o revezamento foram chamados Zach Apple e Blake Pieroni, al\u00e9m dos reservas Conor Dwyer e Jack Levant.<\/p>\n

Dressel pretende ser o s\u00e9timo nome dessa lista nadando a final ou a eliminat\u00f3ria em busca de conquistar nove medalhas de ouro. Se conseguir seria um feito \u00fanico. At\u00e9 hoje o recorde de mais medalhas em uma \u00fanica edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Campeonato Mundial de Esportes Aqu\u00e1ticos pertence a Michael Phelps<\/a> e ao pr\u00f3prio Dressel. Ambos conquistaram sete ouros em um mesmo evento. Phelps em Melbourne-2007 e Dressel em Budapeste-2017.<\/p>\n

Na mesma entrevista, o velocista ainda revelou que participar\u00e1 das disputas da International Swimming League (Liga Internacional de Nata\u00e7\u00e3o em portugu\u00eas), evento que reunir\u00e1 diversas estrelas da nata\u00e7\u00e3o internacional ap\u00f3s o Mundial. Ele n\u00e3o deu maiores detalhes, mas afirmou que n\u00e3o participar\u00e1 no novo FINA Champions Swim Series por considerar que as datas da competi\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o ruins para seu cronograma.
