Desta vez n\u00e3o foi de tempo e sim de idade. Aos 66 anos, a americana Pat Gallant-Charette conclui a mais famosa travessia\u00a0em\u00a0\u00e1guas abertas e tornou-se a mulher mais velha do mundo a realizar o percurso de 34 km que separam o norte da Fran\u00e7a do sul da Inglaterra. Um feito e tanto para esta av\u00f3 de tr\u00eas crian\u00e7as que vive em Westbrook, no estado americano do Maine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A nadadora iniciou sua travessia partindo de Dover, na costa inglesa no \u00faltimo dia 18 de junho\u00a0por volta das 5 horas da manh\u00e3. Ela foi acompanhada pelo filho no barco de apoio e chegou as terras francesa 18 horas ap\u00f3s\u00a0come\u00e7ar a nadar. Atravessar o Canal da Mancha sempre um sonho para\u00a0Gallant-Charette que se preparou por muito tempo para executar esse desafio. Sarah, filha da nadadora, afirmou ao <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/pat-gallant-charette-becomes-oldest-woman-cross-english-channel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">site Swim Swam<\/a> que a travessia era para a m\u00e3e como conquistar um Super Bowl, a final do campeonato de futebol americano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al\u00e9m da conquista no Canal da Mancha, Gallant-Charette tamb\u00e9m ostenta outros recordes de idade sendo a mulher mais velha a nadar o Canal de Catalina nos Estados Unidos, o Estreito de Tsugaru no Jap\u00e3o, o Canal do Norte entre a Irlanda do Norte e Esc\u00f3cia e o Canal de Molokai no Hava\u00ed.\u00a0&#8220;Conseguir realizar esta travessia significa muito para mim. Este \u00e9 o meu quinto recorde das travessias do Desafio dos Sete Mares, mas todos eles este \u00e9 o mais significante para mim&#8221;, disse ap\u00f3s o novo recorde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Antes de Gallant-Charette o feito de nadadora mais velha a atravessar o Canal da Mancha pertencia a australiana Susan Oldham que tinha 64 anos em 2010 quando completou a prova. Por\u00e9m, Oldham quer o t\u00edtulo de volta e j\u00e1 esta treinando para recuperar a sua coroa.
