O medalhista ol\u00edmpico, Gustavo Borges, ser\u00e1 nomeado ao Hall da Fama do Comit\u00ea Ol\u00edmpico Brasileiro com outros atletas medalhistas ol\u00edmpicos. A partir de processo de elei\u00e7\u00e3o realizado na \u00faltima semana, foram aprovadas as indica\u00e7\u00f5es de Gustavo Borges, al\u00e9m de H\u00e9lia Pinto \u201cFof\u00e3o\u201d (v\u00f4lei), Rog\u00e9rio Sampaio (jud\u00f4), e Serv\u00edlio de Oliveira (boxe). Com a inclus\u00e3o dos quatro nomes, o Hall da Fama do COB chega, assim, a 28 homenageados de 12 modalidades.<\/p>\n

Visando valorizar os grandes nomes do esporte ol\u00edmpico do Brasil, o Hall da Fama realiza homenagens todos os anos, desde 2018, a personagens que contribu\u00edram de maneira marcante para o esporte ol\u00edmpico brasileiro, promovendo o Olimpismo e inspirando novas gera\u00e7\u00f5es. Assim como no ano passado, devido \u00e0 pandemia do novo coronav\u00edrus, o COB realizou o processo de elei\u00e7\u00e3o dos novos integrantes do Hall da Fama totalmente online. Os integrantes da Comiss\u00e3o Avaliadora receberam virtualmente os formul\u00e1rios de vota\u00e7\u00e3o, e a reuni\u00e3o ocorreu por meio de videoconfer\u00eancia e presencial.<\/p>\n

\u201cEstamos muito orgulhosos de acrescentar mais quatro nomes \u00e0 galeria dos her\u00f3is ol\u00edmpicos brasileiros. Dou meus parab\u00e9ns a Gustavo, Rog\u00e9rio, Fof\u00e3o e ao Serv\u00edlio, alguns dos maiores nomes de modalidades tradicionais e amadas pelos brasileiros. A comiss\u00e3o foi formada por sete membros da diretoria do COB; um da Comiss\u00e3o de Atletas do COB; quatro do Conselho de Administra\u00e7\u00e3o do COB; e pelos dois representantes nacionais no Comit\u00ea Ol\u00edmpico Internacional (COI), Andrew Parsons e Bernard Rajzman. Gustavo Borges foi quatro vezes medalhista ol\u00edmpico: prata nos 100m livre em Barcelona-1992, prata nos 200m livre e bronze nos 100m livre em Atlanta-1996 e bronze no revezamento 4x100m livre em Sydney-2000.
