O Rio Negro Challenge, considerado o maior evento de \u00e1guas abertas do Norte do Brasil, foi realizado no \u00faltimo final de semana em Manaus. A competi\u00e7\u00e3o reuniu provas para crian\u00e7as entre 8 a 12 anos de idade, no retorno do Circuito Curumim, al\u00e9m das provas de\u00a0 3 km, 1,5 km e o relay 500m e a tradicional Travessia Almirante Tamandar\u00e9.\u00a0Com vagas limitadas devido a pandemia de COVID-19 e atendendo todos os protocolos de seguran\u00e7a sanit\u00e1ria, o evento volta ao complexo tur\u00edstico Ponta Negra, zona oeste de Manaus, pela primeira vez em quase dois anos. O evento contou com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o de 360 atletas.<\/p>\n

“A prova foi acima da expectativa, tivemos um dia muito bonito. O tempo da travessia foi muito bom, esper\u00e1vamos um tempo at\u00e9 maior. N\u00e3o tivemos nenhum incidente na prova, no final tivemos um desfile da Marinha com uma banda pra abrilhantar o final do evento. Tivemos muitos atletas que estavam disputando uma prova de \u00e1guas abertas pela primeira vez, talvez tenha sido o efeito da pandemia. Foi um evento fant\u00e1stico, estamos muito felizes e isso ir\u00e1 servir como combust\u00edvel para o nosso pr\u00f3ximo evento”, disse o organizador da prova Pierre Gadelha.<\/p>\n

Na tradicional Travessia Almirante Tamandar\u00e9, o nadador Caio Sakamoto foi a grande estrela da edi\u00e7\u00e3o 2021, faturando dois p\u00f3dios. No s\u00e1bado, levou o t\u00edtulo do Relay (revezamento) com a equipe Brunno Suplementos, que tinha ainda os nadadores Alison e Ot\u00e1vio. O p\u00f3dio da Almirante Tamandar\u00e9 foi completado por Caio Arcos (Instituto Pedro Nicolas) na segunda posi\u00e7\u00e3o com o tempo de 2h23min33s. O terceiro lugar ficou com Richard Ferreira (Aqu\u00e1tica Amazonas) que fez o tempo de 2h29min09s. Pedro Fasone (Pedro Nicolas) foi o quarto com o tempo de 2h39min59s e Marcelo Fonseca (Aqu\u00e1tica Amazonas) fechou o p\u00f3dio com o tempo de 2h40min14s.<\/p>\n

No feminino a vit\u00f3ria ficou com Kathleen Manoella, de 14 anos, do Instituto Pedro Nicolas, que concluiu a prova em 2h34min28s. O p\u00f3dio foi completado por Emily Rabello (Sinpol \u2013 RR) em segundo lugar com o tempo de 2h40min02s, Yuri Sasai (M\u00e1rcio Soares\/Aqu\u00e1tica Amazonas) em terceiro com o tempo de 2h43min56s, J\u00e9ssica Santos (Aqu\u00e1tica Amazonas) em quarto com 2h50min42s e In\u00eas Loureiro (APABV-RR), na quinta posi\u00e7\u00e3o com o 3h08min56s.<\/p>\n

Erik Rabelo (Sinpol-RR) venceu a prova de 1,5 km com o tempo de 21min11s, tendo Leonardo Paim (APABV) em segundo com o tempo de 23min42s e Gabriel de Souza foi o terceiro com 26min31s.\u00a0No feminino quem levou a melhor foi a colombiana Juanita Quijano com o tempo de 25min17s. Thais de Castro ficou na segunda coloca\u00e7\u00e3o 25min31s e Evelyn Rabelo (Sinpol-RR) levou o bronze com o tempo de 27min10s.<\/p>\n

No p\u00f3dio geral da prova de 3km, quem levou a melhor foi Rafael Leal (Instituto Pedro Nicolas) com 45min53s, seguido por Carlos Dugarte (M\u00e1rcio Soares) com 51min04s e Rodrigo Toledo em terceiro com 54min26s. No feminino Rayssa Leite foi a campe\u00e3 com 1h01min40s. Bruna Menezes (Aqu\u00e1tica Amazonas) ficou em segundo lugar com o tempo de 1h04min53s e Danielle Farias em terceiro com 1h04min58s.<\/p>\n

No s\u00e1bado aconteceram as provas do Circuito Curumim, dedicado \u00e0s crian\u00e7as e o Relay. No revezamento feminino, o t\u00edtulo ficou com as meninas da equipe Matrix\u00e3 formada por Gesilda, Miraci e Hellen e no masculino a vit\u00f3ria ficou com a equipe Brunno Suplementos, formada pelo trio encabe\u00e7ado por Caio Sakamoto, Alisson e Ot\u00e1vio.
