Est\u00e1 chegando a hora da segunda edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Rio Negro Challenge – temporada 2017. O desafio nas \u00e1guas escuras e densas do Rio Negro, em Manaus, no Amazonas, englobar\u00e1 quatro provas. Duas na Maratona Aqu\u00e1tica Amazonas \u2013 nas dist\u00e2ncias de 1,5 km e 3 km \u2013, o Circuito Curumim, dedicado \u00e0s crian\u00e7as, e desafiadora Travessia Almirante Tamandar\u00e9, com dist\u00e2ncia de 8,5 km e que ter\u00e1 a presen\u00e7a da tricampe\u00e3 mundial de maratonas aqu\u00e1ticas, a baiana Ana Marcela Cunha<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m de disseminar as maratonas aqu\u00e1ticas no Estado do Amazonas e em todo o Norte do Brasil, o festival Rio Negro Challenge tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 marcado pela preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental.\u00a0\u00c9 que nos anos anteriores os atletas eram guiados por botes motorizados, o que deixava um rastro de polui\u00e7\u00e3o nas \u00e1guas do rio Negro.<\/p>\n

Desde que assumiu a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o da prova, h\u00e1 dois anos, Pierre Gadelha, 50, aboliu o uso dos botes. Hoje os atletas que fazem a travessia s\u00e3o acompanhados por guias que usam pranchas de stand up paddle ou caiaques. O resultado \u00e9 uma prova ecologicamente correta. \u201cEssa foi a nossa maior preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o. N\u00e3o adianta falar de ecologia se a gente mesmo depreda. Ent\u00e3o eu vi a possibilidade de fazer uma prova onde o atleta nade sem respirar combust\u00edvel. Porque voc\u00ea imagina, vamos ter uma prova com 70 atletas. J\u00e1 imaginou 70 botes queimando combust\u00edvel? Ent\u00e3o a gente t\u00e1 trazendo o de stand up paddle e o pessoal dos caiaques para dar este suporte\u201d, explica o organizador da prova, que \u00e9 ex-nadador e propriet\u00e1rio de uma escola de nata\u00e7\u00e3o em Manaus. Pierre come\u00e7ou a vislumbrar o mercado das maratonas aqu\u00e1ticas ao acompanhar o filho, o ultramaratonista Vitor Gadelha, 20, em competi\u00e7\u00f5es pelo pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Economia<\/strong>
\nN\u00e3o \u00e9 s\u00f3 o meio ambiente que sai ganhando com o uso pranchas de SUP e caiaques durante as disputas das maratonas aqu\u00e1ticas. Empresas especializadas no aluguel deste tipo de equipamento aproveitam o evento para aumentar seus lucros. \u00c9 o caso da AmaZon Mystery Tours, que j\u00e1 est\u00e1 terceirizando aluguel de caiaques para atender a demanda da Travessia Almirante Tamandar\u00e9. \u201cJ\u00e1 alugamos 12 caiaques para a prova. E quando estiver mais pr\u00f3ximo est\u00e1 demanda vai aumentar, por isso j\u00e1 contamos com outros parceiros para atender a demanda\u201d, explica a empres\u00e1ria Suelen Campos.\u00a0A empresa, al\u00e9m de trabalhar com o aluguel de caiaques, ainda fornece guias para a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o da travessia. Todos devidamente qualificados para a fun\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Veteranos e novatos<\/strong>
\nA Travessia Almirante Tamandar\u00e9 \u00e9 a oportunidade de unir veteranos e novatos no esporte.\u00a0No hall dos mais experientes tem uma verdadeira lenda da nata\u00e7\u00e3o do Amazonas que ainda se mant\u00e9m em atividade aos 50 anos. Trata-se do nadador Jefferson Mascarenhas. At\u00e9 hoje ele det\u00e9m o recorde de atleta mais jovem a vencer travessia. Feito realizado em 1979 quando tinha 13 anos. Hoje a preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o maior do nadador \u00e9 com a qualidade de vida. \u201cEu sempre preguei que a gente vai envelhecendo e a\u00ed que a gente tem que buscar o esporte. T\u00f4 procurando qualidade de vida. Preciso emagrecer. Preciso entrar em forma. T\u00f4 com 50 anos vou fazer 51 por isso eu preciso buscar provas como Challenge\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n

\u201cJeff\u00e3o\u201d como \u00e9 carinhosamente conhecido entre os amigos tem mais de 20 maratonas aqu\u00e1ticas no curr\u00edculo. A maior de todas foi os 30 km do Rio Negro Challenge em 2015. Com 30 anos a menos, Matheus Costa de Andrade vai encarar o desafio de atravessar o Rio Negro pela primeira vez na vida. E a meta dele n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas concluir a prova. \u00c9 brigar por um lugar no p\u00f3dio.\u00a0\u201cTreino de segunda a s\u00e1bado 1h30 por dia o que d\u00e1 uns 3, 3 mil e 500 km por sess\u00e3o e fa\u00e7o muscula\u00e7\u00e3o cinco vezes por semana\u201d, revela o nadador.\u00a0Al\u00e9m do desafio de percorrer a dist\u00e2ncia pela primeira vez, Matheus quer ir mais longe, principalmente por conta do recorde de participantes que a prova ter\u00e1 este ano. \u201cTem que chegar em forma\u201d, ressalta.<\/p>\n

\nA segunda etapa do Rio Negro Challenge 2017 ser\u00e1 realizada no dia 3 de dezembro, em Manaus, Amazonas. As inscri\u00e7\u00f5es para a Travessia Almirante Tamandar\u00e9 j\u00e1 est\u00e3o encerradas.
