Esta semana um experiente trio de maratonistas aqu\u00e1tico ir\u00e1 realizar o o desafio Amazon Challenge de 30 km nas \u00e1guas do Rio Negro, em Manaus. O trio Ana Mesquita, Percival Milani e Harry Finger tem em comum o amor pela nata\u00e7\u00e3o em \u00e1guas abertas e por encarar grandes percursos. Por\u00e9m, h\u00e1 outro fator que une estes atletas: a Travessia do Canal da Mancha.<\/p>\n

Em algum momento de suas vidas, todos completaram a mais desafiante e tradicional travessia das \u00e1guas abertas. Os “mancheiros”, como eles se auto intitularam v\u00e3o encarar 30 km de nata\u00e7\u00e3o na janela de 18 a 20 de mar\u00e7o em um dos locais mais encantadores do Brasil: as \u00e1guas do Rio Negro. Nadar em plena Amaz\u00f4nia n\u00e3o \u00e9 uma tarefa f\u00e1cil principalmente devido as condi\u00e7\u00f5es naturais da regi\u00e3o. O clima \u00famido e as escuras e densas \u00e1guas do rio s\u00e3o mais um desafio al\u00e9m do longo percurso.<\/p>\n

Mas os tr\u00eas nadadores sabem bem o que ter\u00e3o pela frente e se preparam bem para encarar este desafio. Quem chegou primeiro \u00e0 Amaz\u00f4nia foi Ana Mesquita, que nadou neste fim de semana a prova de 2 km no Rio Negro Experience e terminou em segundo lugar na classifica\u00e7\u00e3o geral. Um desempenho que animou a nadadora em uma esp\u00e9cie de aquecimento. “Que emo\u00e7\u00e3o voltar a nadar no Rio Negro. Que emo\u00e7\u00e3o voltar \u00e0 Amaz\u00f4nia. E que linda recep\u00e7\u00e3o tivemos no territ\u00f3rio Tatuyo. Prova maravilhosa!”, escreveu a nadadora em suas redes sociais.<\/p>\n

Na disputa do Amazon Challenge, Ana utilizar\u00e1 um mai\u00f4 especial da Keel America. A marca esportiva, especializada em polo aqu\u00e1tico, est\u00e1 lan\u00e7ando uma nova linha para nata\u00e7\u00e3o e resolveu apoiar a nadadora neste desafio no Rio Negro. Inclusive, ela participou da cria\u00e7\u00e3o do mai\u00f4, que n\u00e3o tem forro (buscando pesar menos para as atletas) e que conta com uma modelagem para evitar assaduras. Ana tamb\u00e9m utilizar\u00e1 o modelo da Keel em uma prova no Arquip\u00e9lago de Alcatrazes no m\u00eas que vem. J\u00e1 Harry e Percival tamb\u00e9m nadar\u00e3o com uma sunga da marca.<\/p>\n

Os tr\u00eas nadadores tamb\u00e9m fazem parte da prestigiada lista de brasileiros que j\u00e1 conseguiram atravessar as g\u00e9lidas \u00e1guas do Canal da Mancha. Ana Mesquita \u00e9 inclusive, at\u00e9 hoje a recordista nacional e latino-americana nas \u00e1guas do Canal, tendo feito sua prova em 9h40min no ano de 1993. Percival completou a travessia em 2003 e Harry foi o \u00faltimo do trio a concluir o desafio no ano de 2012.<\/p>\n

No Amazon Challenge existem duas op\u00e7\u00f5es de dist\u00e2ncia para realizar o desafio: 18 km e 30 km. Em provas solo ou em revezamento.
