O Desafio Elite Rei e Rainha do Mar j\u00e1 \u00e9 um evento consagrado no Brasil. \u00danico torneio de nata\u00e7\u00e3o em \u00e1guas abertas a ser transmitido pela TV aberta do pa\u00eds (dentro da programa\u00e7\u00e3o do Esporte Espetacular da TV Globo), ele re\u00fane anualmente grandes nomes da modalidade na Praia de Copacabana, no Rio de Janeiro. Em a\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e3o homens e mulheres dispostos a lutar pela coroa de rei e rainha do mar. Este ano a competi\u00e7\u00e3o tem uma novidade com um novo formato que promete mais\u00a0equil\u00edbrio.<\/p>\n

Antes explicar a nova din\u00e2mica vamos recapitular as origens do evento.\u00a0O primeiro formato da competi\u00e7\u00e3o, em 2009, teve apenas homens disputando a coroa de rei do mar. Na ocasi\u00e3o o australiano Trent Grimsey foi o vencedor. Entre 2010 e 2012 homens e mulheres nadavam separadamente e cada um recebia sua coroa. A partir de 2013 o formato passou a ser em duplas onde com um nadador e uma nadadora representavam um pa\u00eds. A dupla que completasse o circuito mais r\u00e1pido era a campe\u00e3.<\/p>\n

Este ano teremos pela primeira vez quartetos. Dois homens e duas mulheres v\u00e3o compor os times e cada um deles dar\u00e1\u00a0duas voltas de\u00a0400m (350m de nata\u00e7\u00e3o e 50m de corrida na areia) totalizando\u00a0oito voltas e 3,2\u00a0km nadados por equipe. A equipe mais r\u00e1pida ser\u00e1 declarada campe\u00e3 da edi\u00e7\u00e3o 2017. A ado\u00e7\u00e3o de quarteto tamb\u00e9m foi\u00a0feita pela Fina que este ano estreou o formato no Campeonato Mundial de Budapeste. Nos eventos da entidade internacional cada atleta precisa nadar 2,5 km totalizando 10 km.<\/p>\n

Este novo formato dar\u00e1 mas equil\u00edbrio e emo\u00e7\u00e3o a disputa, j\u00e1 que as equipes ter\u00e3o que ter uma boa estrat\u00e9gia principalmente na ordem dos atletas. Em 2017 teremos cinco equipes: Brasil Amarelo (Poliana Okimoto, Ana Marcela Cunha, Allan do Carmo e Fernando Ponte), Brasil Verde (Viviane Jungblut, Betina Lorscheitter, Guilherme Costa e Leonardo de Deus), Europa (Anna Olasz, Esmee Vermeulen,\u00a0Dario Verani e Alex Studzinski), Am\u00e9rica (Samantha Arevalo, Rebecca Mann, Guillermo Bertola e Xavier Desharnais) e \u00c1frica (Michelle Weber, Sasha-Lee Nordengen, Chad Ho e Danie Marais).<\/p>\n
