Thiago Pereira inaugura na pr\u00f3xima ter\u00e7a-feira (18), no Parque Aqu\u00e1tico Municipal de Volta Redonda (RJ) o projeto de nata\u00e7\u00e3o que leva o nome dele. O medalhista ol\u00edmpico de Londres 2012 estar\u00e1 presente em sua cidade natal a partir de 11h para interagir com os alunos.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m de Thiago Pereira, representantes da prefeitura da Cidade do A\u00e7o, da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o CSN e CSN \u2013 Companhia Sider\u00fargica Nacional, patrocinadora oficial do projeto, estar\u00e3o na piscina oficial conhecendo as atividades. O Nadando com Thiago Pereira teve in\u00edcio em agosto de 2022 e atende crian\u00e7as e adolescentes entre 7 e 17 anos. A equipe conta com um coordenador t\u00e9cnico, tr\u00eas professores e tr\u00eas estagi\u00e1rios.<\/p>\n

\u201dO projeto Nadando com Thiago Pereira \u00e9 a concretiza\u00e7\u00e3o de um sonho antigo meu! Volta Redonda (RJ) foi onde nasci e cresci. Espero que mais crian\u00e7as aprendam a nadar e fa\u00e7am uma modalidade esportiva\u201d, disse Thiago Pereira.<\/p>\n

Os jovens nadadores recebem todos os materiais referentes \u00e0 pr\u00e1tica da modalidade, como uniforme, mai\u00f4, sunga, touca, \u00f3culos, al\u00e9m de medalhas para as competi\u00e7\u00f5es. Contemplado por lei federal de incentivo ao esporte, o Nadando com Thiago Pereira deve atender at\u00e9 280 crian\u00e7as e adolescentes em seu completo funcionamento, durante\u00a0seis meses.<\/p>\n

\u201cA ideia \u00e9 democratizar a nata\u00e7\u00e3o, promover sa\u00fade, a inclus\u00e3o, melhorias na qualidade do ensino e formar cidad\u00e3os. Para o futuro, queremos novos Thiagos, criar uma equipe do Nadando com Thiago Pereira\u201d, destacou Rose Vilela, m\u00e3e de Thiago Pereira e\u00a0secret\u00e1ria municipal de Esportes\u00a0e Lazer de Volta Redonda (RJ).<\/p>\n

Um dos objetivos de Thiago Pereira \u00e9 conscientizar a popula\u00e7\u00e3o de Volta Redonda (RJ) e de todo o Brasil sobre afogamento, a segunda maior causa de morte acidental de crian\u00e7as e adolescentes de zero a 14 anos, segundo dados do Minist\u00e9rio da Sa\u00fade.<\/p>\n

Como forma de combater essa realidade brasileira, o prop\u00f3sito do projeto \u201cNadando com Thiago Pereira\u201d \u00e9 destinado ao aprendizado da nata\u00e7\u00e3o, sem objetivo de preparar para alto rendimento e competi\u00e7\u00f5es.\u00a0O maior medalhista na hist\u00f3ria dos Jogos Pan-Americanos e ex-recordista mundial, Thiago Pereira come\u00e7ou a nadar com dois anos ap\u00f3s quase se afogar em uma piscina na casa de um familiar.<\/p>\n

\u201dA pessoa saber nadar \u00e9 uma condi\u00e7\u00e3o que a torna muito menos vulner\u00e1vel em uma quest\u00e3o t\u00e3o importante como o afogamento. Sabemos que \u00e9 uma estat\u00edstica ainda dif\u00edcil no Brasil, que piorou durante a pandemia e, para n\u00f3s da CSN e Funda\u00e7\u00e3o CSN, estarmos junto com quem atingiu excel\u00eancia na sua pr\u00e1tica esportiva e que traz isso para o projeto, \u00e9 muito interessante\u201d,\u00a0explicou Andr\u00e9 Leonardi, Gerente Geral da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o CSN.<\/p>\n

Volta Redonda (RJ) est\u00e1 com a principal unidade fabril da CSN, a Usina Presidente Vagas e onde tem projetos pr\u00f3prios da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o CSN, como o Garoto Cidad\u00e3o. A iniciativa conta com o patroc\u00ednio da CSN, por meio da Lei de Incentivo ao Esporte e com parceria da Secretaria Municipal de Esporte e Lazer e Prefeitura de Volta Redonda.<\/p>\n
