Na sua primeira tentativa, a vaga garantida! David Popovici, aos 18 anos de idade, j\u00e1 est\u00e1 classificado para os Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos de Paris-2024, aquela que ser\u00e1 sua segunda Olimp\u00edada da carreira. A vaga foi conquistada neste s\u00e1bado (08\/04) ao vencer a prova dos 100m livre no Campeonato Romeno marcando 47s61, o melhor tempo do mundo em 2023.<\/p>\n

Arquibancada lotada em Otopeni, mesma piscina que recebeu o Europeu J\u00fanior do ano passado, e onde Popovici foi a grande estrela. Passados tr\u00eas dias de competi\u00e7\u00e3o, o jovem nadador romeno mant\u00e9m este destaque todo. Foram cinco provas, cinco vit\u00f3rias, tr\u00eas melhores marcas pessoais e dois recordes nacionais absolutos. Popovici ainda nada os 100m borboleta para completar a sua campanha na competi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Por op\u00e7\u00e3o de seu treinador Adrian Radulescu, Popovici n\u00e3o nadou a prova dos 200m livre, mas chamou a aten\u00e7\u00e3o sua performance nos 400m livre onde venceu com 3min51s18, melhor marca pessoal. Na prova ele fez uma bela batalha contra o vice campe\u00e3o mundial j\u00fanior Vlad Stancu que chegou em segundo lugar pouco mais de um segundo atr\u00e1s de Popovici. Em entrevista para a imprensa local, Popovici disse que ainda quer competir as provas de 800m e 1500m livre.<\/p>\n
