Embora o ombro seja a parte do corpo mais lesionada entre os nadadores competitivos, uma variedade de outras les\u00f5es tamb\u00e9m pode ser encontrada no dia a dia do esporte.<\/p>\n<p>Les\u00f5es no joelho, por exemplo, podem ser observadas em 3,1% a 17,7% dos nadadores competitivos, sendo a segunda articula\u00e7\u00e3o mais acometida no esporte. Assim como as les\u00f5es do ombro, elas tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o causadas pela sobrecarga e uso repetitivo. Entre os nadadores de peito este n\u00famero \u00e9 ainda maior, at\u00e9 75% relatam dor medial no joelho durante sua vida esportiva.<\/p>\n<p>A t\u00e9cnica de nado peito requer um esfor\u00e7o bastante peculiar,do ponto de vista biomec\u00e2nico. Durante a fase propulsiva da pernada de nado peito, o nadador faz um movimento vigoroso de\u00a0 chutar para tr\u00e1s e para baixo com movimento semelhante a um \u201cchicote\u201d. Os nadadores s\u00e3o mais propensos a sentir dor no joelho se seus quadris tiverem um baixo n\u00edvel de rota\u00e7\u00e3o interna durante o chute de perna de nado peito. Isso \u00e9 causado por flexores do quadril encurtados e abdu\u00e7\u00e3o do quadril deficiente.<\/p>\n<p>A chave para prevenir a dor no joelho do nado de peito \u00e9 a forma adequada e a coordena\u00e7\u00e3o muscular. Os programas preventivos de treinamento devem se concentrar no recrutamento espec\u00edfico da nata\u00e7\u00e3o dos m\u00fasculos do quadril, estabilidade da articula\u00e7\u00e3o do joelho, mobilidade e flexibilidade do quadril e do joelho.
