Com 54s15, a nadadora conseguiu passar para a semifinal com o 9\u00ba melhor tempo no geral e tem chances de conseguir um lugar na final se conseguir abaixar ainda mais seu tempo. O melhor tempo foi de Sioban Haughney, nadadora da Hong Kong com 53s15. O tempo de corte da semifinal foi 54s67 da japonesa e \u00eddola local Rikako Ikke, a 16\u00aa colocada geral. A Am\u00e9rica do Sul ter\u00e1 outra representante na semifinal, a argentina Macarena Ceballos que marcou 2min26s18 e passou com o 14\u00ba tempo.
