Eric Minoru Nakumo concluiu na \u00faltima quarta-feira (09) a Travessia do Canal da Mancha, prova de \u00e1guas abertas entre a Inglaterra e a Fran\u00e7a. Considerada uma das ultramaratonas mais dif\u00edceis do mundo, devido a correnteza e as \u00e1guas geladas, o percurso de aproximadamente 33 km foi realizado pelo atleta em 10h23min de prova.<\/p>\n

O nadador, natural de S\u00e3o Paulo, largou por volta as 4h28 da manh\u00e3 do hor\u00e1rio local, e chegou a costa da Fran\u00e7a \u00e0s 14h21 do mesmo dia.\u00a0“Foi muito gratificante terminar esta prova! Fui treinado, orientado e acompanhado pelo Igor de Souza e pela Marta Izo, duas feras que j\u00e1 atravessaram o Canal da Mancha, por isso, estar ao lado deles no hall de brasileiros que completaram a prova ainda \u00e9 surreal para mim”, contou Eric \u00e0 SWIM CHANNEL.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Sabia das dificuldades que a prova poderia proporcionar e acabei enfrentando tudo o que ouvia: \u00e1gua a 17\u00baC, encontro com \u00e1guas-vivas e correnteza que deixa a travessia ainda mais longa”, finalizou Eric, de 38 anos.<\/p>\n

Nakumo foi acompanhado pelo experiente t\u00e9cnico Igor de Souza e pela t\u00e9cnica e ultramaratonista Marta Izo.\u00a0Com esse resultado, ele se tornou o 38\u00ba brasileiro a concluir a travessia no Canal da Mancha em provas individuais.<\/p>\n

Alguns atletas brasileiros fizeram o percurso mais de uma vez e tamb\u00e9m tivemos tentativas de atletas brasieliros em revezamento. Considerada como o \u201cMonte Everest da Nata\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, a travessia do Canal da Mancha \u00e9 uma provas mais dif\u00edceis e antigas da hist\u00f3ria.\u00a0 Matthew Webb foi o primeiro a realizar a prova a nado em 1875.<\/p>\n
