Estas subst\u00e2ncias s\u00e3o produtos utilizados com o objetivo de melhorar o desempenho f\u00edsico e a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o ap\u00f3s o exerc\u00edcio, o que ocorre atrav\u00e9s do incremento da musculatura e da performance f\u00edsica. Entre estas subst\u00e2ncias ergog\u00eanicas est\u00e3o os amino\u00e1cidos de cadeia ramificada (BCAA \u2013 branched chain amino acid), e que s\u00e3o representados pela leucina, isoleucina e valina. Os amino\u00e1cidos de cadeia ramificada s\u00e3o essenciais na dieta e, portanto relevantes na regula\u00e7\u00e3o da s\u00edntese proteica muscular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1p3\"><span class=\"v1s2\">Os amino\u00e1cidos colaboram no nosso metabolismo, fazendo que o desempenho f\u00edsico seja melhorado e a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o funcional durante a pr\u00e1tica esportiva. O BCAA \u00e9 o tipo de amino\u00e1cido mais comumente utilizado pelo m\u00fasculo esquel\u00e9tico e serve como importante substrato de energia quando os carboidratos se reduzem ap\u00f3s um exerc\u00edcio prolongado. A serotonina \u00e9 conhecida por ter rela\u00e7\u00e3o com a manuten\u00e7\u00e3o da temperatura corporal, press\u00e3o arterial, secre\u00e7\u00f5es internas, apetite, comportamento sexual, exerc\u00edcio, dores e no ajuste \u00e0 diversas fun\u00e7\u00f5es biol\u00f3gicas, como a mem\u00f3ria e a cogni\u00e7\u00e3o.<span class=\"v1Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1p3\"><span class=\"v1s2\">De acordo com alguns estudos, o aumento na dura\u00e7\u00e3o da atividade f\u00edsica pode promover o aumento da ativa\u00e7\u00e3o da serotonina, o que estaria relacionado ao aumento da fadiga. Desta forma, a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o dos amino\u00e1cidos de cadeia ramificada parecem reduzir o ac\u00famulo de serotonina, diminuindo assim a fadiga. Esta diminui\u00e7\u00e3o da concentra\u00e7\u00e3o da serotonina ocorre antes da atividade f\u00edsica, durante e ap\u00f3s, colaborando assim para que a performance se mantenha em bom n\u00edvel em todos os momentos da pr\u00e1tica esportiva de dura\u00e7\u00e3o moderada a longa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1p3\"><span class=\"v1s2\">O lactato tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 uma subst\u00e2ncia que deve ser analisada quando se pensa em fadiga e que pode sofrer efeitos do BCAA. Fisiologicamente, o lactato \u00e9 formado como resultado do metabolismo anaer\u00f3bico da glicose durante o exerc\u00edcio, e \u00e9 um importante indicador de atividade e fadiga musculares. Avaliando os efeitos do BCAA, pesquisadores mostraram que os \u00edndices de lactato come\u00e7am a cair imediatamente ap\u00f3s o exerc\u00edcio e que ap\u00f3s e est\u00e3o praticamente normais ap\u00f3s 30 minutos de repouso. Desta forma, o desconforto causado pelo ac\u00famulo de lactato \u00e9 menor, proporcionando maior desempenho e recupera\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1p3\"><span class=\"v1s2\">Quanto ao dano muscular durante a atividade f\u00edsica, os marcadores bioqu\u00edmicos mais utilizados s\u00e3o a creatinofosfoquinase (CPK) e a desidrogenase l\u00e1ctica (DHL). O CPK e o DHL t\u00eam uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o importante no ajuste metab\u00f3lico necess\u00e1rio para a atividade muscular, e podem ser usados como importantes indicadores de les\u00e3o muscular, j\u00e1 que aumentam com o desgaste do m\u00fasculo devido ao exerc\u00edcio. Desta forma, estudos em que atletas receberam BCAA mostraram redu\u00e7\u00e3o da concentra\u00e7\u00e3o do CPK e DHL durante o exerc\u00edcio prolongado, o que na pr\u00e1tica pode se traduzir em melhor resposta do m\u00fasculo ao esfor\u00e7o.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1p3\"><span class=\"v1s2\">Quanto ao metabolismo, preferencialmente utilizamos a glicose como a nossa melhor fonte de energia. No entanto, algumas pesquisas sugerem que nos atletas que consomem o BCAA pode haver uma mudan\u00e7a deste padr\u00e3o, fazendo que os \u00e1cidos graxos (gorduras) passem a ser uma fonte importante de energia, principalmente imediatamente ap\u00f3s a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de atividade f\u00edsica exaustiva maior que uma hora. Este fato se relaciona com a melhora da performance e com a redu\u00e7\u00e3o de danos musculares.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1p3\"><span class=\"v1s2\">Como sempre, \u00e9 importante lembrar que suplementos alimentares devem ser indicados por profissionais da \u00e1rea da sa\u00fade que estudam o tema, que sabem os benef\u00edcios, riscos e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es \u00a0de tais produtos.
