Mas ser\u00e1 que este exerc\u00edcio realmente traz benef\u00edcios para os atletas?<\/p>\n<p>Antes de responder \u00e0 quest\u00e3o \u00e9 preciso entender algumas coisas. Em primeiro lugar o manguito rotador \u00e9 um grupo de m\u00fasculos, cujos tend\u00f5es que inserem na regi\u00e3o do \u00famero (osso do bra\u00e7o). \u00c9 formado por 4 m\u00fasculos: o subescapular (rotador interno), o supraespinhoso, infraespinhoso e o redondo menor (rotadores externos). As for\u00e7as respons\u00e1veis pelo deslocamento do corpo na \u00e1gua, s\u00e3o principalmente produzidas pelos membros superiores, atrav\u00e9s da adu\u00e7\u00e3o do bra\u00e7o (peitoral maior e grande dorsal) e rota\u00e7\u00e3o interna do ombro (peitoral, subescapular). Pela execu\u00e7\u00e3o repetida desses movimentos, o adutor do ombro e os m\u00fasculos rotadores internos<br \/>\napresentam uma tend\u00eancia a se tornarem proporcionalmente mais fortes quando comparados aos seus antagonistas (abdutores e rotadores externos). Isto leva a um desequil\u00edbrio muscular que pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento de les\u00f5es no ombro.<\/p>\n<p>O complexo articular do ombro \u00e9 caracterizado por alto grau de mobilidade; portanto, um programa de preven\u00e7\u00e3o de les\u00f5es para nadadores deve exigir estabiliza\u00e7\u00e3o din\u00e2mica da articula\u00e7\u00e3o. Estes programas dever\u00e3o focar n\u00e3o apenas no fortalecimento em rota\u00e7\u00e3o externa compensat\u00f3ria, mas tamb\u00e9m em todos os grupos musculares estabilizadores din\u00e2micos e est\u00e1ticos do ombro.
