Com o desempenho, o Brasil supera os Estados Unidos que entre 1967 e 1987 ganhou seis vezes a prova. Com esse resultado o Brasil se torna ainda o pa\u00eds com mais medalhas de ouro na hist\u00f3ria dos Jogos Pan-Americanos nesta prova. S\u00e3o oito ouros contra sete dos americanos.<\/p>\n<p>A dinastia come\u00e7ou no Pan de Winnipeg em 1999, quando o quarteto formado por Fernando Scherer, C\u00e9sar Quintaes, Andr\u00e9 Cordeiro e Gustavo Borges venceu a prova pela primeira vez com o tempo de 3min17s18, batando inclusive o recorde sul-americano e de campeonato, Desde ent\u00e3o s\u00f3 vit\u00f3rias em Santo Domingo-2003, Rio-2007, Guadalajara-2011, Toronto-2015, Lima-2019 e agora Santiago-2023.
