Estudos de diversas partes do mundo sobre as les\u00f5es no cotovelo encontraram uma incid\u00eancia entre 13,5% e 22% deste tipo de les\u00e3o em nadadores.<\/p>\n<p>Alguns fatores, podem estar relacionados ao surgimento das les\u00f5es, como:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>N\u00edvel de experi\u00eancia:<\/strong> <\/em>Nadadores iniciantes podem ter um risco maior de les\u00f5es no cotovelo do que nadadores experientes.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Frequ\u00eancia e intensidade dos treinos:<\/strong> <\/em>Nadadores que treinam com mais frequ\u00eancia e intensidade podem ter um risco maior de les\u00f5es no cotovelo do que nadadores que treinam menos.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Idade:<\/strong> <\/em>Nadadores mais velhos podem ter um risco maior de les\u00f5es no cotovelo do que nadadores mais jovens.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>T\u00e9cnica de nata\u00e7\u00e3o:<\/strong> <\/em>Uma t\u00e9cnica de nata\u00e7\u00e3o inadequada, com flex\u00e3o excessiva do punho, pode aumentar o risco de les\u00f5es no cotovelo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Por\u00e9m nem todas as les\u00f5es s\u00e3o iguais. Dentre as mais comuns nos nadadores temos as relacionadas aos tend\u00f5es: epicondilite lateral, tamb\u00e9m conhecida como &#8220;cotovelo de tenista&#8221; e a epicondilite medial: tamb\u00e9m conhecida como &#8220;cotovelo de golfista&#8221; e a tendinite do b\u00edceps braquial. Outra les\u00e3o comum \u00e9 a bursite olecraniana, que \u00e9 uma inflama\u00e7\u00e3o da bolsa sinovial (bursa) que protege a parte posterior do cotovelo. E por fim as les\u00f5es traum\u00e1ticas como as fraturas do cotovelo, que apesar de serem menos comuns, podem ocorrer (conhe\u00e7o uma nadadora que teve duas fraturas por causa da chegada em uma prova r\u00e1pida).<\/p>\n<p>No geral, as les\u00f5es do cotovelo provocam dor local que pode irradiar para a m\u00e3o, enrijecimento muscular e limita\u00e7\u00e3o dos movimentos.<\/p>\n<p>O tratamento das les\u00f5es no cotovelo depende do tipo de les\u00e3o e da sua gravidade. A fisioterapia pode ajudar a fortalecer os m\u00fasculos do antebra\u00e7o e melhorar a flexibilidade, al\u00e9m de ensinar t\u00e9cnicas para evitar a reincid\u00eancia da les\u00e3o.
