Uma das (gratas) surpresas do \u00faltimo dia do TYR Pro Swim Series em San Antonio, no Texas, foi o nadador mexicano Gabriel Casta\u00f1o Garcia vencedor dos 50m nado livre com 21.70. A vit\u00f3ria fechou uma competi\u00e7\u00e3o de muito sucesso para o nadador que se tornou no primeiro nadador da hist\u00f3ria do M\u00e9xico a quebrar a barreira dos 22 segundos nos 50m nado livre e lhe deu passaporte para a sua segunda Olimp\u00edada.<\/p>\n

Casta\u00f1o nadou a prova dos 50m nado livre tr\u00eas vezes em San Antonio. Fez uma tomada de tempo na sexta-feira marcando 21.81, novo recorde mexicano, mas tempo que n\u00e3o valeu como marca ol\u00edmpica. A nova regulamenta\u00e7\u00e3o da World Aquatics pro\u00edbe tomadas de tempo como classificat\u00f3rias ol\u00edmpicas. Nas eliminat\u00f3rias da prova neste s\u00e1bado, Casta\u00f1o voltou a bater o recorde mexicano agora para 21.67 e desta vez garantindo a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o ol\u00edmpica. Na final, Casta\u00f1o novamente, 21.70, deixando Ryan Held em segundo 21.79 e Caeleb Dressel em terceiro 21.85.<\/p>\n

O recorde nacional dos 50m livre do M\u00e9xico \u00e9 de Casta\u00f1o desde 2019. A marca antes deste fim de semana era 22.01, tempo que lhe deu a vaga ol\u00edmpica para T\u00f3quio, sua primeira Olimp\u00edada.<\/p>\n

Ao nadar tr\u00eas vezes para 21\u2033 nos 50m nado livre, agora Casta\u00f1o acumula os 25 melhores tempos da hist\u00f3ria da prova para a nata\u00e7\u00e3o mexicana.<\/p>\n
