No final do m\u00eas passado, entre os dias 24 e 26 de maio, aconteceu na Irlanda um training camp de endurance em \u00e1guas frias chamado “Hit The Wall”. O evento, organizado pela Infinity Channel Swimming, \u00e9 considerado pela World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) um dos melhores do mundo e teve como grande campe\u00e3o um brasileiro: Jos\u00e9 Ferreira.<\/p>\n

Z\u00e9 Ferreira encarou 22,5 km de nata\u00e7\u00e3o em \u00e1guas abertas que aconteceu na regi\u00e3o de Carlingford Lough, entre as cidades irlandesas Carlingford e Omeath. Este evento \u00e9 um treinamento intensivo que dura poucos dias e que tem como objetivo levar os nadadores at\u00e9 seus limites f\u00edsicos e mentais, os preparando para desafios dur\u00edssimos como a Travessia do Canal do Norte, realizada no canal entre a Irlanda do Norte e a Esc\u00f3cia em \u00e1guas com temperatura bastante baixas.<\/p>\n

A programa\u00e7\u00e3o de quatro dias do Hit The Wall conta com etapas a serem realizadas pelos nadadores. No primeiro dia \u00e9 feito uma aclimata\u00e7\u00e3o e no segundo os atletas encaram 7,5 km de nado na \u201cBatalha de Carlingford Lough Swim\u201d. No \u00faltimo dia acontece o \u201cChampion of the Champion\u201d, com percurso total de 15 km, sendo divididos em 8 km pela manh\u00e3, seguidos de 5 km e uma final de 2 km. Nesta prova, o campe\u00e3o precisa ter a soma de tempo mais r\u00e1pida de todas as provas e Z\u00e9 Ferreira foi o na categoria masculina s\u00eanior sem neoprene.<\/p>\n

Visando uma boa performance na Irlanda, o brasileiro Z\u00e9 Ferreira resolveu encarar o desafio e para se preparar para o Hit The Wall, ele realizou treinos em uma banheira com gelo na sua casa com o objetivo de deixar seu corpo e mente adaptados para o desafio que teria pela frente.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo in\u00edcio, fiquei por 15 minutos com a temperatura a 15\u00b0C, at\u00e9 alcan\u00e7ar os 10\u00b0C por 30 minutos. Nesse processo, apliquei t\u00e9cnicas de respira\u00e7\u00e3o, mindfulness, medita\u00e7\u00e3o e sempre percebi os sinais de como o corpo se comportaria. Todos esses aprendizados fazem parte da cria\u00e7\u00e3o da minha estrat\u00e9gia mental para os desafios em que nado\u201d, conta o nadador.<\/p>\n

Com a vit\u00f3ria na Irlanda, Z\u00e9 Ferreira segue para um novo desafio na Europa: Travessia Batalha de Rande, que tem 27 km e acontece anualmente em Vigo, na Espanha.
