Assim podemos resumir o que \u00e9 a grandeza do Pr\u00eamio Laureus, criado no ano de 1999 pela Founding Patrons Damier e Richemont<\/em> e que sempre contou com fortes e tradicionais patrocinadores.\u00a0O evento promove diversas homenagens, mas as mais importantes s\u00e3o: melhor atleta masculino do ano, melhor atleta feminina, melhor time coletivo, revela\u00e7\u00e3o do ano e o melhor retorno.<\/p>\n

Honradamente, fui convidado pelo presidente da Academia Laureus, Edwin Moses, para integrar o painel de especialistas que elegem os homenageados do ano. Pelo terceiro ano consecutivo, fa\u00e7o parte do \u201cboard\u201d dos especialistas. N\u00e3o posso informar meus votos, pois tudo \u00e9 confidencial, mas relato quais s\u00e3o as chances da nata\u00e7\u00e3o nas principais categorias.<\/p>\n

Atleta no masculino do ano<\/strong><\/p>\n

Acho muito dif\u00edcil algum nadador levar o t\u00edtulo. Mesmo sendo ano de campeonato mundial, nenhum nadador foi imensamente consagrado em Kazan (local do Mundial de 2015) e ningu\u00e9m teria chance de tirar o pr\u00eamio Laureus dos principais favoritos, que dever\u00e3o ser o Usain Bolt (Atletismo) e Novak Djokovic (T\u00eanis).<\/p>\n

Atleta no feminino do ano<\/strong><\/p>\n

Para quem acompanha nata\u00e7\u00e3o, ou pelo menos entende um pouco da modalidade, sabe que existe uma \u201cgigante\u201d das piscinas: a americana Katie Ledecky. A nadadora de longa dist\u00e2ncia foi t\u00e3o importante para os Estados Unidos, que sozinha faturou mais medalhas de ouro no Campeonato Mundial de Kazan do que toda a sele\u00e7\u00e3o inteira de seu pa\u00eds. Ledecky ganhou tudo: 200m, 400m, 800m e 1500m livre e o revezamento 4x200m livre.<\/p>\n

Apesar de ser a melhor nadadora do mundo de 2015, a atleta n\u00e3o \u00e9 mundialmente conhecida perante atletas de outras modalidades como a tenista Serena Williams. N\u00e3o \u00e9 t\u00e3o simples explicar esse motivo. Talvez ela n\u00e3o tenha um sorriso simp\u00e1tico ou carisma como o de Missy Franklin (a nadadora queridinha da Am\u00e9rica) ou n\u00e3o apare\u00e7a tanto na m\u00eddia como a h\u00fangara Katinka Hosszu. Performance ela tem de sobra para vencer o pr\u00eamio Laureus, mas \u00e9 dif\u00edcil dizer se ganhar\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Nesta categoria entram as modalidades coletivas e a nata\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o tem indica\u00e7\u00e3o para esta premia\u00e7\u00e3o. Quem sabe num futuro pr\u00f3ximo, podemos ver equipes de revezamento de nata\u00e7\u00e3o disputando este desejado pr\u00eamio.<\/p>\n

O melhor representante da nata\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 o brit\u00e2nico Adam Peaty. O jovem de 20 anos, arrasou no Mundial de Kazan, vencendo as provas de 50m e 100m peito e o revezamento 4x100m medley misto. Sua t\u00e9cnica do nado peito \u00e9 elogiada em todo o mundo e \u00e9 o s\u00edmbolo da ressurrei\u00e7\u00e3o da nata\u00e7\u00e3o brit\u00e2nica.<\/p>\n

Melhor retorno do ano<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aqui esta a maior chance de algum nadador vencer o pr\u00eamio Laureus. A lenda Michael Phelps n\u00e3o participou do Campeonato Mundial de Kazan, mas paralelamente (exatamente na mesma semana do evento) competiu nos Estados Unidos e simplesmente arrasou nas provas de 100m e 200m borboleta e os 200m medley. Se tivesse participado do Mundial, teria vencido as tr\u00eas provas individuais.<\/p>\n

Por causa de mau comportamento, foi preso por estar dirigindo alcoolizado, ele acabou cortado da sele\u00e7\u00e3o americana. Mas a verdade \u00e9 que Phelps continua no auge da forma e ainda \u00e9 o melhor nadador do mundo e (pasmem) \u00e9 o atleta candidato a conquistar o maior n\u00famero de medalhas nos Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos do Rio de Janeiro em 2016, entre todas as modalidades.<\/p>\n

Geralmente os nadadores tem mais visibilidade em ano ol\u00edmpico, mas seria importante para a modalidade vencer alguma categoria do Pr\u00eamio Laureus neste ano de 2015.<\/p>\n
