Atleta ol\u00edmpico 50 anos de idade, Miguel Arrobas foi eleito na semana passada como\u00a0 o 21o Presidente da Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa de Nata\u00e7\u00e3o desde a sua cria\u00e7\u00e3o em 1930. Arrobas teve 22 votos bateu o atual Vice Presidente Rui Sardinha que somou 14 votos e ainda tivemos um voto em branco.<\/p>\n

Chega ao fim o vitorioso per\u00edodo de gest\u00e3o de Antonio Silva, que deixa a FPN mas segue como Presidente da Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Europeia de Nata\u00e7\u00e3o e integrante do Bureau da World Aquatics. A situa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 bem similar a Luiz Fernando Coelho que deixou a CBDA para seguir Presidente da CONSANAT e parte do Bureau da AQUA.<\/p>\n

Arrobas representou Portugal nos Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos de 1992 em Barcelona participando das provas de 100 e 200m costas. Era atleta do Alg\u00e9s Dafundo, clube da regi\u00e3o metropolitana de Lisboa. Aposentado das piscinas, ainda esteve em diversas provas de \u00e1guas abertas por alguns anos.<\/p>\n

Advogado por forma\u00e7\u00e3o, j\u00e1 exerceu cargos de relev\u00e2ncia na pol\u00edtica portuguesa incluindo um pequeno per\u00edodo como Deputado da Assembleia da Rep\u00fablica pelo partido CDS. Antes, foi Vereador do Desporto da C\u00e2mara do Cascais.<\/p>\n

O esporte aqu\u00e1tico de Portugal vive a melhor fase da sua hist\u00f3ria. Diogo Ribeiro foi duas vezes campe\u00e3o mundial em Doha no in\u00edcio deste ano, Camila Rebelo foi campe\u00e3 europeia e as \u00e1guas abertas tamb\u00e9m ganharam medalhas in\u00e9ditas nos circuitos europeus e Copas do Mundo. A nata\u00e7\u00e3o paral\u00edmpica tamb\u00e9m faz parte do escopo da entidade e resultados expressivos tem sido alcan\u00e7ados nas \u00faltimas temporadas.<\/p>\n

Arrobas ainda n\u00e3o anunciou os seus planos para o comando da Sele\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa. O contrato do treinador brasileiro Alberto Pinto da Silva foi estendido at\u00e9 o final desta temporada e n\u00e3o h\u00e1 qualquer defini\u00e7\u00e3o na sua perman\u00eancia.<\/p>\n

A Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa de Nata\u00e7\u00e3o tem cerca de 11 mil atletas filiados a entidade e realiza eventos internacionais no pa\u00eds com frequ\u00eancia. A etapa de Set\u00fabal tem estado todos os anos no calend\u00e1rio da Copa do Mundo de \u00c1guas Abertas e por duas vezes j\u00e1 foi utilizada como Seletiva Ol\u00edmpica da modalidade. Al\u00e9m disso, o Centro Aqu\u00e1tico da Ilha da Madeira foi sede do Campeonato Europeu e Campeonato Mundial de Nata\u00e7\u00e3o Paral\u00edmpica al\u00e9m de ser uma das sedes do World Series do Paraswimming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
