Anthony Ervin dividiu o ouro com Gary Hall Jr nos 50m livre em Sidney-2000 e havia sido campe\u00e3o mundial no ano seguinte. Nathan Adrian e Cullen Jones integraram o revezamento 4x100m livre campe\u00e3o em Pequim-2008 e somavam p\u00f3dios em Mundiais de curta e Campeonatos Pan-Pac\u00edfico. Se em Londres o Team USA apostava na experi\u00eancia, tudo indica que a hist\u00f3ria ser\u00e1 diferente no Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n<p>Podendo disputar sua terceira Olimp\u00edada, Nathan Adrian ainda \u00e9 o principal velocista do pa\u00eds. Terminou 2015 com o segundo melhor tempo nos 50m livre (21s37) e o 12\u00ba nos 100m livre (48s31), al\u00e9m do vice-campeonato mundial nos 50m livre batendo o recorde nacional. Mas o atual campe\u00e3o ol\u00edmpico dos 100m livre j\u00e1 come\u00e7a a ver uma sombra surgir.<\/p>\n<p>Essa sombra atende pelo nome de Caeleb Dressell. O jovem velocista completar\u00e1 20 anos de idade no dia 16 de agosto, justamente bem ao fim das disputas ol\u00edmpicas da nata\u00e7\u00e3o. E ele planeja comemorar e curtir seu anivers\u00e1rio na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Ano passado o nadador, que representa a Universidade da Fl\u00f3rida, teve a melhor temporada da carreira. Foi campe\u00e3o nacional nos 50m e 100m livre, campe\u00e3o do NCAA nos 50 livre e terminou no top 5 mundial dos 50m livre com 21s53.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 um atleta que esta em franca ascens\u00e3o e a cada competi\u00e7\u00e3o mostra-se mais veloz. Ontem ele disputou o SEC Swimming Championships e conseguiu um resultado hist\u00f3rico. Logo nas eliminat\u00f3rias ele superou todos os recordes poss\u00edveis no 50 livre em piscina de jardas ao nadar para 18s39, deixando para tr\u00e1s o pr\u00f3prio Adrian recordista americano, e Cesar Cielo, que era at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o o homem mais r\u00e1pido da hist\u00f3ria nesta dist\u00e2ncia. Na final Dressell foi ainda melhor: 18s23, ratificando a melhor marca da hist\u00f3ria e que na convers\u00e3o para a piscina curta \u00e9 20s23 e na longa 21s03. Um belo tempo. No s\u00e1bado ele nada os 100 livre, onde vai tentar superar os 40s76 de Vlad Morozov.<\/p>\n<p>Dressell surgiu para o cen\u00e1rio internacional em 2013, quando terminou o Campeonato Mundial J\u00fanior de Dubai com seis medalhas e o t\u00edtulo nos 100m livre. Desde ent\u00e3o passou a ser cada vez mais r\u00e1pido nos 50m livre e agora se coloca ao lado de Adrian como favorito para garantir uma vaga no time ol\u00edmpico americano nos 50m livre e talvez nos 100m livre, onde ter\u00e1 mais concorr\u00eancia e pode pegar uma vaga no competitivo 4x100m livre.<\/p>\n<p>Na primeira reuni\u00e3o da equipe do Pool Party (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8Fk2I7RpN08\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clique aqui<\/a> para assistir ao programa), Gustavo Borges apostou que Dressell pode surpreender com um p\u00f3dio no Rio-2016. Gustavo sabe muito bem que em Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos surpresas sempre acontecem e que Dressell pode ser uma delas.
