Um dos nadadores brit\u00e2nicos mais condecorados dos \u00faltimos anos anunciou que pretende mudar seu progama de provas visando um melhor desempenho nos Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos de Los Angeles-2028. Dono de oito medalhas ol\u00edmpicas, Duncan Scott concedeu uma entrevista ao Olympics.com, canal oficial do Comit\u00ea Ol\u00edmpico Internacional (COI), onde afirmou que pretende abandonar os 100m livre e focar suas aten\u00e7\u00f5es para os 200m livre e 200m medley.<\/p>\n

Aos 28 anos de idade, Scott afirmou que deixar de nadar os 100m livre significa n\u00e3o integrar o forte revezamento 4x100m livre brit\u00e2nico. Por\u00e9m, o nadador afirma que quer melhorar sua performance nas provas mais longas. \u201cSe eu realmente quiser me concentrar nos 200m livre e 200m medley, que exigem mais resist\u00eancia, pequenos detalhes acabam sendo deixados de lado se eu tamb\u00e9m estiver tentando nadar os 100m livre. Estou disposto a fazer esse sacrif\u00edcio para melhorar\u201d, disse.<\/p>\n

Scott foi bicampe\u00e3o ol\u00edmpico com o revezamento 4x200m livre do Reino Unido, por\u00e9m, ele tem um sonho de conquitar uma medalha de ouro ol\u00edmpica em provas individuais, algo que falta em seu vitorioso curr\u00edculo. \u201cSou o medalhista de prata mais condecorado dos Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos. Isso por si s\u00f3 j\u00e1 me motiva, porque ainda faltam algumas coisas para completar minha cole\u00e7\u00e3o”, afirmou o brit\u00e2nico.<\/p>\n

Duncan Scott conquistou oito medalhas ol\u00edmpicas em sua carreira. Al\u00e9m do bicampeonato com o 4x200m livre, as demais medalhas s\u00e3o todas de prata: 4x100m medley e 4x200m livre no Rio-2016, 200m livre, 200m medley e 4x100m medley em T\u00f3quio-2020 e 200m medley em Paris-2024. Ele tamb\u00e9m tem no curr\u00edculo dez medalhas em Campeonatos Mundiais, 11 em Campeonatos Europeus de longe e 13 em Jogos do Commonwealth.
